Q: Discuss the lapse of legacy of Will under Muslim law ?

Ans: If legatee dies before legator, under sunni law, there will be the lapse of legacy whereas there will not be the lapse of legacy under Shia law.

Under Sunni law, there will  be the lapse of legacy and after the death of legatee, the property will remain with the legator. But under shia law, after the death of legatee, the property will be  transferred to the legal heirs of legatee and there will not be the lapse of legacy.
